Pet Loss & Bereavement Emotional Support Service

Many pet keepers are attached to their pets and pets have become an important part of their life.  However, pets will die one day.  When the pets are lost, the owners may feel sad, frustrated and anxious, and even deny the loss.  If they do not deal with pressure and negative emotions properly, they may feel upset for a long time, affecting their psychological health.  To meet their needs, the Centre launched the Pet Loss & Bereavement Emotional Support Service, as specified below: 

Service Target

Provide emotional support service for those who have lost their pets in order to help them accept the changes, adjust their life and restore balance between body and mind. 

Service aim

Provide emotional support service for those who have lost their pets

Service Content

  • Hotline service: Provide hotline emotional support service by social worker
  • "Pet Love Station" support group: gather pet lovers to jointly launch community education and visit services in order to express love for animals and pass on the message of respecting life. 

Service Charge

  • Hotline service: free of charge
  • "Pet Love Station" support group: depends on the nature and the content of the service

 Reminder  

  • Hotline service only provide in office hours 
  • The maximum period of each session is 45 minutes. The number of sessions depend on the assessment and agreement with the social worker.
